I use the webquest in my classroom as an intro to our unit on heroes where we read and study an example of each of the 4 main heroes--King Arthur, Beowulf, Oedipus, and Sherlock Holmes.
Suggested Modifications for Teacher UseThere are so many resources that students may not have time to get to them all. Usually, this webquest takes 2-3 whole class periods (90 min classes) or I give students a week outside of class to complete all the assignments. The final product usually takes at least one class period to complete. Plan accordingly. Also, this webquest works just as well with a pick and choose plan where you cover one part at a time.
Please note: I use a Moodle Course site for students to upload the completed assignments. You will need to provide your own link to a learning management system or another way for your students to submit work. |
